Amazon has launched its Professional Beauty Store to offer hairstylists, barbers, and estheticians a convenient shopping experience with an assortment of curated products. This offering is yet another micro-site built within Amazon, similar to Amazon LaunchPad, Amazon Registry and Amazon Back to School.
At first glance, there is little difference because all of these items were already available to consumers on the website. However, Amazon is attempting to make the shopping experience easier for professionals by grouping them together in a convenient location.
Further, Amazon is expanding Amazon Business Account benefits to salons and stylists. Normally these accounts require a business registration, but Amazon is extending the offer to those in this specific industry. The benefits of an Amazon Business Account are tied to Accounting, Order Approvals, and Business Discounting.
It will be interesting to see if Amazon continues with this trend and if so, which industries it targets with micro-sites and added incentives.
